Relationship to Diabetes

Hi everybody, I am type 1 which I have had for 53 years,so got my medal at 50 years of being a diabetic,i have been isolating due to the virus, and now being asked to go back, I am a bit weary as I work in a supermarket and don't know what to do.

Congratulations on your 53 years! That’s quite an achievement. We have a number of similarly experienced T1s on the forum for you to compare notes with 🙂

I understand your caution about working in a retail environment (though we have other members who have been working in retail all through lockdown). However the government advice throughout was for people with diabetes to be careful about social distancing rather than full isolate.
