Hi I’m Suzanne, I have just joined. Not very good at blowing my own trumpet so bare with me :D

Hi Suzanne and welcome to the forum, you'll find lots of support from a very friendly bunch and a wealth of experience should you want to ask anything and nothing is considered silly here

Hi, thank u for welcoming me. I am Adult onset type 1, inject nova rapid to level out my blood sugars and long acting Lantus twice a day 50 units. Metformin 500g x2 twice daily, Trulicity once a week. As I have other conditions as well such as blood pressure problems, I take 5mg of Ramipril once a day and my inhaler are Ventolin and Fostair 100/6 the dose is two puff twice daily. I have a lot of trouble with my sugar levels and would appreciate any advice given, it has been harder to control recently. I don’t know what is going on.

Hello @SueR73 , welcome to the forum. Don’t worry you’ll soon get to know us on here and feel more comfortable. Have you been diagnosed long.

Yes, I’ve been a type 1 diabetic since 2011, my mum, her grandmother and recently my niece Charlene have type 1 diabetes. It been in my family for generations and it appears to effect women the most.

Hi Sue!

Our bodies change - what worked fine for the last X years - now won't. That's nowt unusual so if it's the first time it's happened to you you've been lucky!

Have you heard of 'Basal testing' ? I think you'd be well advised to do a 24hr test - which is impossible to do in 24 hrs so don't think I'm expecting anything instant LOL Once you've done that, you'll be able to see properly what needs tweaking.

Hello @SurR73
Welcome to the forum.
As you will see from the replies you already have there is plenty of knowledge and support available here.
I hope you will keep posting and ask any questions you may have

Welcome to the forum @SueR73

Sorry to hear you have problems with your diabetes management - what particular things do you find most challenging? Is it high levels? Low levels? Erratic levels? Or managing BG around food?

Diabetes can be tricky enough to handle on its own, but it sounds like you have other complexities adding to the difficulty of the jigsaw. Fostair looks like it might be a corticosteroid, which could be raising your BG levels.

In what ways have things got more difficult lately? Might it be connected to the lockdown and change in routine?

Hi @SueR73 and welcome to the forum. Sorry to hear that you are finding that your Diabetes is misbehaving at present. What are the specific things that are causing problems.

I think a lot of people have found that their levels are a bit different with the current circumstances. There is plenty of help available on here. I am another late starter with T1 but only use insulin and no tablets specifically for my Diabetes.

I look forward to hearing more from you.

Fostair is a combination inhaler/slash preventer. It is a steroid though so that could be one possible cause or it could be that my day are not structured enough whilst I stuck at home.
