That sounds excellent @Chalkie

Yes, you are quite right. The recommendations are 4-7 before meals and no higher than 8.5 by 2 hours after meals.

They seem ok.
Hi - thanks for your reply. I thought they may be. I was hoping to get some further information as being new to this game I am still unsure how it all works. I do have another query and that is I was not overweight when my GP told me I had Diabetes 2. He checked my BMI and said it was fine but mentioned try not to lose to much weight if you can help it. This is a bit awkward when cutting down on carbs etc. I am losing 1 lb a week and not sure what direction to go to avoid this. I have read the articles on the site but hoping to hear if others have the same problem.
Thanks again.

We have had a few members in your situation. Some describe themselves as TOFI (thin outside, fat inside) where they seem to easily put on visceral fat around organs without general weight gain - this visceral fat then impedes the functions of the liver and pancreas etc.

Some members find they can reach a weight maintenance diet which is still BG friendly by reintroducing carefully selected carbs which suit their individual metabolism and gut biome.

Others choose to introduce ‘good fats’ (often thought to be full fat dairy, oily fish, olive oil etc) to stabilise weight.

I wonder if @SueEK might have some thoughts?

Im sure folks will be along in due course with suggestions

Hi - sorry for the delay. Thanks for your information most useful. I have already started on the lower two of your suggestions and will have to wait and see if that helps. Haven't been to SueEK yet but will do soon.
All the best

I hope those ideas work for you Chalkie
Take care
