Welcome to the forum. 🙂

It looks like you've posted in one of the 'right' areas already. There's no hard and fast rules about posting although the names of the forums do give a hint of where it is best to post or create threads.

I can't help with the 800 calorie diet I'm afraid. But, when I was losing weight I just took my time about it and lost around 4st in 18 months or so. It was just down to reducing some of the carbs (I was probably averaging 100-150g per day), I also reduced the fats (I was overdosing on cheese etc before) and increased my exercise. I worked up to a daily brisk walk of at least 1hr per day (90mins at the weekend).

More recently I have regained some of that weight (a couple of stones) but am still in reasonable shape to get things back on track again. Which I am in the process of doing again right now (I'm preparing for my May review!).

Andy 🙂

Hi and welcome to the forum. How do you currently manage your diabetes, is it just with the medication or do you follow a low carb diet? When I was first diagnosed I was following slimming world, thinking I was doing the right thing, once diagnosed I kind forgot about the weight and was totally focused on bringing my blood readings down from the starting point of 22, I was amazed to find that as my bg reduced, so did my weight, within 6 months I had lost 4 stone and was reading a steady 5.5. I would advise caution with any restrictive calorie diet without getting professional advice, just in case it creates more problems than you aim to solve?

You could try searching the forum for ‘800 cal’ or ‘Newcastle diet’

There have been a few posts over the years.
