hello, i am adam, I've been diabetic for 32 years and have been through a few ups and downs in the proccess...
I signed up to the forum as I'm guaging opinion to setting up a petition against the government's sugar tax, You've probably seen the hospital posters saying not to use certain Lucozades for hypos as they've reduced sugar content because of the tax and I feel we are being penalised or discriminated against for having a conition.
I don't use it often, but I have a few bottles at home and in my work bag, as well as other treaments like glucotabs, but the way it goes means we have to pay more for the sugar or pay more if a brand is labelled "medical" and then there is the risk of further reductions in the product.
Lucozade isn't a drink you have in a bar or pub, people only drink it when needed, like physical activity, I can't see an exception to the tax being viable as other brands my try something to take advatage, but the "court of public opinion" may be able to leverage the government to put a bit more thought into this tax.
I got into this train of thought after talking with a diabetic friend, so I may be going off on a rant, but I'm just seeing where it goes and what others think, so I'll finish with the original point which was hello...
