Hi there!

I have just been diagnosed as a type 2 diabetic. I’ve had a quick meeting with a diabetic nurse who was kind and encouraging, but I’ve now had to leave the UK for work so I’m feeling a little isolated and confused. I’m very glad this website and forum is here to help me understand my diagnosis and what I can do to manage my condition and improve my health.

Hi Sarah, welcome 🙂 There is a lot to take in but it’s honestly not as bad as you think once you get your head around it. Best place to start is to read as much as you can and then ask any questions you might have to help you decide how best to manage your diabetes

Thanks for your responses folks - This feels like a friendly forum and I appreciate the supportive comments. I’m in France right now and I’ll be here until early July, but the diabetic nurse I saw before I left the Uk has kindly given me her email address so I can ask any follow up questions that way.
