Type 1
Diagnosed at 45 years with Type 1 following 30kg (over 25% of my starting body weight) unexplained weight loss. HBA1C was 111. High ketone too. This was back in October 2018. Worked hard at this and just got a HBA1C result of 49 so pretty pleased. Its the night time that has let me down and only really got to grips with how to keep in range overnight without going too low and also dawn phenomenon and generally weird ups and downs whilst i'm asleep. Our bodies definitely work differently when sleeping.

Hello, Strongman and welcome to the forum. Our bodies certainly are a law unto themselves at night! I was diagnosed 12 years ago, at the age of 51, so I’m another 'late starter' and my overnights have been the worst thing to keep under control, my levels drop the moment I get into bed, until around 4am, when they start to rise again, and only a lot of testing and juggling with insulin has produced the best I can do - by no means perfect, but liveable with!
