Recently diagnosed with Type 2 and High Cholestrol. Type 2 reading 15 and Cholestrol 6.5. The doctor has put me on Statins and I have had 3 blood tests and a urine test. I am having to wait until 11th Jan to see the diabetic nurse. No meds for the diabetes or Meter to measure my sugar as yet.

Hi, @TLambert, welcome to the forum.
I know it's Christmas
but while you're waiting for your appointment you could make a start by cutting out or reducing starchy carbs like potatoes, bread, pasta and rice. These can be replaced with more green leafy veg, eggs, fish, dairy, good quality meat. Many people here buy Burgen Soya & Linseed bread, which is lower carb (if you can find it - our Morrisons has run out again!). This will help straightaway, and it will help to lose weight if you need to.
That's probably enough to cope with over the Christmas period, so come back and let us know how your appointment went, and we can offer more support and advice. All the best to you 🙂

Hello @TLambert welcome to the forum 🙂. As @Pine Marten says diet is very crucial to keeping control but is very doable, I`m afraid a lot of the members will be other wise engaged due to the Christmas celebrations but there is always someone to answer your questions if you are patient enough.
