Hi Emz,

My son is doing amazingly well thankyou. I think he has taken the news better than me! But thats mum's for you. I am so glad i found this place too - i am not sure what i would have done without it in the early days. How old are you Emz? There are a few on here in their twenties - i am guessing thats what you are or thereabouts. We did try injections - but its difficult with children and growth hormones etc...😱Bev

Hiya Emzy, welcome... I've had T1 for three years too, (well, symptoms started 3 years ago, didn't actually go to GP and get diagnosed til 9th April 2007 though!) so we must have got ill around the same time.

It's definitely good to have some diabetic friends who understand when things are going right or wrong for you. I know what you mean when you say it can be lonely. How old are you, and are you studying, or working etc? I was lucky in that I already had 2 friends with T1, and then a new guy started at work and he had T1 too. I'd never injected in front of people til I saw my colleague do it and saw that no-one was bothered by it, so that helped.

Feel free to post lots of questions on here, or have a moan, or celebrate good news...

Welcome aboard Emzy, well if it's diabetic friends you want this sure is the place! Congrats on finding it. Stick around together we are stronger!! There's a one liner type thread in off the subject board for chating if you fancy it sometimes it's quiet but other times a full house!
