Hi I am an old hand at Diabetes (42 years so far). However this is my 1st time on a forum thing on the internet! So Hello to you all. The reason I have joined is I am trying to find out how to check my Huma Luxura Insulin Pen is dosing correctly? Do any of you know the answer to this.

Hi Lobble and welcome to the forum. I seem to remember someone and it could have been Elliejones explain how to check the if the pen was working,
From a vague memory it involved 20 units of insulin dialled up and put in the lid of the pen!!!
As I said it's only a vague memory so I'm sure someone else will know for sure. I have never used pens always preferred the syringe or my pump as it is now.

H Lobble66, welcome to the forum 🙂 I have also heard suing the pem cap method to check dose but can't remember the exact number of units to dial! Do you have a spare pen? If so, you could dial up the same number of units in each pen and inject into the pen cap - if they don't both come up with the same levels then one is not dosing correctly. If so, then I would call their customer service for advice. If you don't have a spare pen you should certainly get one! 🙂
