Relationship to Diabetes
Type 2
Hello,

Greetings from a British expat in Indonesia. I've had type 2 Diabetes for approx six years and take medication, try to watch my diet and exercise. Sadly over here there's not much support in the way of networking with others, so I'm absolutely delighted to be part of this forum. I do hope to be able to share my experiences and learn from others.

Adrian 🙂

Hi Adrian, welcome to the forum 🙂 What medication are you on? There are lots of friendly, knowledgeable people here who will hopefully be able to help you out with any problems, and who will also benefit from your own experiences. Plus, it's just good to talk to others who 'get it'! 🙂

I look forward to hearing more from you, please jump in werever you wish and let me know if you have any questions or problems with using the forum 🙂

the medication that I'm on is Metformin 1000mg per day and also Amlodipine 5mg per day for BP.

Metformin is fairly common worldwide - how have you got on with it? Some people find the side-effects difficult to tolerate and use a slow-release version which is more expensive but kinder on the system 🙂 Do you have to finance your own supplies over there, and do you test your levels to assess the impact of different food?

With Metformin so far so good with no side-effects. Yes I do finance my own supplies over here. At the moment my tests are carried out by a doctor, but I'm trying to get round to do these myself.
