Hi there 🙂
I was recently reccomended this site, and thought i would join up - have to say it does look really cool on here - the ltitle i've seen so far anyway! 🙂
My name's Steph, i'm 19 and am a type 2 diabetic - or MODY rather (Maturity Onset Diabetes of The Young) I got it when i was 12, and all the women o nmy mother's side seems to have it , but out of my sisters, its just me so far.
I do struggle with my diabetes, i find it hard to maintain a good lifestyle. For a few years, i went off the rails and stopped attending the doctors and clinics (to the point where i was de-registered) and just completely binged on everything and anything.
Recently, my sugars got out of control, i was as i was when first diagnosed - constantly thirsty, tired, mood swings, and so have recently started making the first steps to getting back in control. I re-registered with the doctors, started eating more sensibly, and already am noticing the benefits!
I just wanted to join somewhere that offered a bit of support and advice really! 🙂
I am really interested in getting to know other people and having a chat, so if you want, feel free to come and say hello, i don't bite (honest!)
Non Diabetes related, i love to read, am avidly interested in history, love to hang out with my friends and have fun.!
Hope your all ok - and this is a rather long intro so will leave it here!
Speak soon (i hope!: ) )
