Cakiejewell hi and a warm welcome to the forum, how long have you been diagnosed

I'm on Lantus and Humalog and after going on the DAFNE course at the end of last year things have gotten alot better.

Hi cakiejewell, welcome to the forum 🙂 We've got quite a lot of long-diagnosed members here, so you can reminisce about glass needles and urine sticks 😉 :D

Seriously though, I hope you enjoy using the forum! What regime are you on, and how are you doing generally?

p.s. I see our posts crossed.

Welcome to the forum cakiejewell 🙂

I am on basal bolus... Think that's what its called! And actually I'm getting on really great. It's taken me a very long time to come to terms with having Diabetes but last February something just clicked for me. I have since lost 4 stone (still got a way to go but getting there gradually) and my HBA1C is coming down too, 7.6 at the moment. So yeah... I'm actually good! Thanks!

Good to hear 🙂 It is indeed called basal/bolus. Good to hear that you've got a place on DAFNE. I haven't done it myself, but lots of members here have and it's had some great reviews. Well done on the weight loss too, that's very impressive! Do you follow any particular diet?

DAFNE is really great, I dreaded going, not really into 'group discussions' if you get my drift but it was really lovely to be able to talk to other people who really understood.

As for the weight loss, I exercise ALOT. I go to Zumba classes and in between I workout at home on my Wii. I don't follow any set diet I just don't eat anything bad, well mostly! I do occasionally have treats....!

...!

That's very true. We have Forum Meets up and down the country where people can get together and just have an informal chat with others in the same boat, you should try and come along to one. There's a calendar here:

Hi cakiejewel. Welcome 🙂

Good to hear you've turned things around and got a lot from DAFNE.

It's never too late and there's a lot of years ahead to live yet.🙂

Hello there from me!

I'm a 'mere' Type 2 and get easily confused with all this insulin 'malarky'. At the moment I'm 'copping out' with just diet and exercise. However, I'm sure you'll find quite a few bods here with plenty of experience to share.

So, welcome to the forum!!

Andy 🙂
