Relationship to Diabetes
Type 2
My Name is Ben, I was diagnosed 4 years ago (50yo)
At the time I was quite ill and taken to hospital. I was very weak/sick/nauseous and had a temperature. After 6 days of tests I was told that I was diabetic. I have used a pen and the dial thingy (always liked that until it was taken off the market) and only found out six months ago that there were needles made thinner and less painful than the ones I had been using painfully all these years!,

Hi Ben, welcome to the forum 🙂 Strange that you were only diagnosed after 6 days, it's normally a fairly straightforward diagnosis based on blood sugar levels reaching a certain point. What insulin regime are you on? Many people seem to come across advances in treatment, like better needles, only by chance or from hearing others mention them on forums such as this. How is your control now? Are you on any other medication besides insulin? Sorry for all the questions, but it helps us to know in order to respond appropriately to any questions you may have 🙂

Good morning Ben and a warm welcome to the forum

Welcome to the forum Ben 🙂

Welcome to the forum from me too, Ben.

I think forums like this one (especially like this one!!) are the perfect places to keep up to date with recent improvements. There's often someone getting access to something more up to date and they can often spread the knowledge faster than the professionals.

Andy 🙂
