Hi Colin welcome to the forum 🙂

Sorry to hear about your other health problems and your job loss. Have you been able to find other work?

Great to hear you are coming to terms with it - it's totally natural to feel angry etc. Please ask as many questions as you like!

I hope that your company can find you an alternative job, it's such a blow to not only get diagnosed but also have such a life-changing thing imposed on you. Do you get good support from your doctor or nurse? What insulin are you on? Sorry about all the questions! There are some useful links here which will hopefully help you to get your levels down:

Have you been given any education on how to match your insulin to your food (carb counting). I know this can often be only directed at Type 1s and not always considered when a Type 2 has to go on insulin. With your other health problems, I imagine that it is difficult to also exercise, but whatever you can manage will really help.
