Relationship to Diabetes
Type 1
Hello I’m new to this site, I was born with type 1 diabetes, so I thought I would give this a go .
I’ve never really had people to talk to about my diabetes due to the only one in my family with this type

Hi and welcome from me too.

Which insulins do you use? Do you have Libre sensors or other Constant Glucose Monitor (CGM) to track your levels?
Like @Inka I am interested to know more about being born with diabetes or do you just mean you developed it at a very young age?
Is there anything particular that you would like to ask about diabetes or do you just feel it would be helpful to compare notes with others. Here on the forum we totally understand the benefit of this and sharing our experiences helps to broaden our understanding and learn little tips and tricks from others, as well as just being a place to hang out where we can share our triumphs and frustrations with people who understand.

Welcome. If you really mean you were born with diabetes then that isn’t type 1, it’s likely neonatal diabetes. It’s important to get the right classification since a lot of people with neonatal diabetes don’t need to take insulin. Have you been tested to find out if it’s neonatal or type 1 that you have?

You can read more about neonatal diabetes here https://www.diabetes.org.uk/diabetes-the-basics/other-types-of-diabetes/neonatal-diabetes

To be fair, I looked and Neonatal Diabetes isn’t on the list of Types here for one’s avatar. I know it could go under Other Type but that always seems a bit vague. Hopefully the OP will clarify soon.

They said type 1 in their written post so I’m assuming doesn’t know about neonatal diabetes
