Hi, joined because my wife has had type 1 all her life (44 years) and suffers badly with neuropathy pain and severe loss of sight, had the jelly removed from both eyes and retinas reattached at Moorfields. Read an article earlier saying neuropathy is caused by high blood sugars which is complete rubbish. My wife’s control is and has been excellent, so good she was told off by her consultant! Told her they needed to be higher but she needs them low to help save what sight she has left.

Hi, and welcome. Sorry to hear about your wife's problems. According to the NHS there are a number of possible causes of neuropathy, one of which is diabetes. It doesn't say it's caused by high blood sugar, only that it's a probable cause. Where was the article you read?
