Hi,
My name is Jess. I'm 28 and I was diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes in December of 2022. I was on Metformin once per day for a year and then in December of 2023 my levels were low and stable enough for my GP to take me off of the medication and we are now waiting to see if I am in remission - fingers crossed!
I have lost almost 20KG since my diagnosis by changing up my diet quite significantly. I aim for about 150G of carbs per day (though on some days I'm closer to 200G ). I have tried to reduce my carbs further, but I suffer from Chronic Fatigue syndrome and I find it's worsened when my carbs drop below the 150G mark.
Although I've been diagnosed for over a year I still find there's much I don't know, so I'm aiming to get a better understanding of the condition as I know even if I'm in remission this is something I'll be dealing with for the rest of my life.
Thanks!
Jess 🙂
