Hi everyone I am newly diagnosed with type 2. I hovered in the prediabetes zone for years but now officially type 2. I also am morbidly obese and in recovery from an eating disorder. I really need to start taking my health seriously but don't know where to start tbh.

Welcome @Billsgirl999 🙂 Have you been given any meds for the diabetes? You could start by looking at the Learning Zone (orange tab at the top of this page).

It must be difficult when you’re recovering from an eating disorder but basically reducing carbs, losing weight and increasing exercise will help. I know you’ve mentioned your weight being high, but if you think positively, this means that if you can reduce it that could have a good effect on your HbA1C.

Hello @Billsgirl999 ,

Sorry to hear that you were diagnosed, but I am glad to hear that you want to do something about it and this is the perfect place. It may be helpful to start with the learning zone (link above). What was your HbA1c when they fully diagnosed you? Did they recommend some changes to your eating habits?
