Welcome to the forum
I hope you have been back to your GP or nurse and told them.
There are a few people who have mentioned that they could not tolerate an increased dose and went back to the lower dose which they managed without problem.

Welcome to the forum @rhi133 ! I'm so sorry to hear that you've been unwell. How long has this been going on for and are you still experiencing these symptoms?

I took my increased dose on Thursday morning by Thursday evening I became unwell. Still having spasms and diarrhoea sickness and sulphur burps have now settled. Contacted my gp today they said it might take a few more days to come out of my system. I've asked to come off this and try something else.

Sorry to hear you had a rough time with the meds. Sometimes it helps to increase the dose more gradually and slowly than usual. In many cases side effects subside, but some folks just don’t get on with particular meds.

What are you being offered as an alternative?

Victoza I'm on metformin and Empa as well. I've been to see a consultant today. Got to do daily monitoring for 6 weeks and start the injections. Fingers crossed they won't cause the same side effects as the last.

Hope it’s a smooth transition, and you find it a helpful addition to balance with the changes to your menu you have been making.

There are a few threads here from forum users who have tried Victoza

It seems to work better for some people than others, bit as with all things diabetes it seems to be a case of exploring the options and finding the combination of meds and menu that works for you as an individual 🙂
