Hi, am a pump user for many years, now using medtronic 780 and guardian 4.

Welcome to the forum from another user of the 780 with Guardian 4 in a closed loop.
How are you finding it?

I would not want to go back now that I have got used to it.

Thanks. Have just posted a message as life has been a struggle with smartguard. I desperately want it to work, but so many hypos, constant need to calibrate, woken most nights to do this. Failing sensors, hoping for some tips. Fingers crossed

Welcome to the forum @dbo

Sorry to hear you are having a few problems with the MM780. I had great success with Enlites for several years, but found G3 tended to be a bit twitchier for me and asked for more calibrations. I am missing Smartguard's earlier action (predictive low glucose suspend on the MM640G acted more effectively to stop hypos than Control IQ for me personally).

Where do you wear your sensors?

Seem to stand more chance of longer lasting in my abdo

Ah that's interesting. I used abdomen a lot at the start, but I found it hard to find spots where I didn't bend/stretch during wear.

In the end I found backs of my arms to be more stable (as long as I could avoid pesky compression lows!)

Glad abdomen is working well for you. 🙂

It is so good to hear the experience of others, as you do feel so alone. I cannot use my arms unless I give up my independence and my husband has to place the sensor. However, skin breakdown is more a problem in arms and 3 days has been longest time they have worked. Shame as individuals we don't fit the technology!
