Relationship to Diabetes
Type 1
Hi, I have recently joined the group to have a read and to see any tips on a few things. I have had Type 1 Diabetes for 29 years and use the libre 2 and the Omnipod.
Thanks for the add.

Welcome to the forum @Steph89 .

Great to have your experience on here, and you will have no doubt have seen so many changes in what is available for our management.
How are you finding your Omnipod?
Have you tried other pumps?
What insulin are you using?

I look forward to hearing more from you.

I have been on the omnipod for nearly 2 years, injections up until then.
My control has got better since switching to the pump and it has made it easier and more flexible. The down side for me is exercise and sweat, the pods come off quite easily when sweaty.
Not tried any other pumps.
I am on Fiasp insulin

Thanks
Steph

Welcome to the forum @Steph89

Sorry to hear you’re having some problems with your pod adhesion when exercising :(

Some years ago people would occasionally mention ‘skintak’ which was a prep spray that you could use to improve adhesion of some diabetes kit. I don’t hear it mentioned so much any more, but it might be worth looking for to see if it’s still available?

Hi,
I have got the skin tac wipes and they do work (makes it hurt sometimes to pull an old pod off) but I had a reaction to them and made my skin all red and itchy so I stopped using them

Ah that’s a shame @Steph89

How a out alcohol wipes? I think Libre used to use them to improve adhesion?

When my sites or sensors are coming loose I use Hypafix tape which helps a lot.
