Hi all,

Just joined up yesterday.

I have just been diagnosed with Covid onset diabetes about a month ago and just getting my head around things.

Have family history of diabetes so it was potentially only a matter of time I guess before I got it.

The doctors weren’t sure if I was Type 1 or 2 but suspected that I was Type 2. Anyway I am on tablets and injecting insulin twice a day.

Welcome @Henners 🙂 What insulin are you taking? How are your blood sugars now? What a nasty Covid surprise for you. Have the doctors done any tests to verify your diabetes type?

Hi @Inka, I’m taking Humulin M3, my blood sugars seem stable. No the doctors haven’t done any tests as they seem to think it’s Type 2

Good news that your blood sugar is stable 🙂 Humulin M3 is a mixed insulin with set proportions of fast-acting and slow-acting insulin so it does require a bit of a routine food-wise. Just be aware of that if your food/meals change.

Glad that your sugar levels are stable, hopefully that means you have the right type diagnosed but do feel free to request confirmation where possible by way of tests should you have any concerns.
