Hello,
Been reading a lot of interesting threads on this forum for a while - so decided to join in.
T1 for just over 42 yrs - which is strange as I don't feel a day over the age of ..... not very much! 🙂

Done the usual rounds of medication: single daily injection --> multiple daily injections ---> now using a Medtronics 522 pump since May.

Also gone through what I suspect are the usual phases in terms of caring for myself for someone of my vintage: twice daily urine testing with a test tube and blue tablets --> no testing at all ---> weeing on sticks ----> nothing ----> finger pricks now and again ---> hardly ever testing ---> now on a pump and totally turned around - finger stick tests 6 times a day are not unusual.

DAFNE course back in April was a real Damascan road experience for me -YES, there IS a methodical and scientific way of determining insulin doses (although saying that, I am still in search of the holy grail in that department - using all the knowledge I obtained during my 5 day course).

Hi Alan, welcome to the forum.

Don't understand the ins and outs and paraphernalia that goes with being Type 1 - and just getting to grips with what it means to be a Type 2, largely thanks to the kind helpful members of this forum.

Glad you joined.

xx

Welcome aboard Alan, seems like you'll be wealthy of information with a few years at this game.
