I've been watching the new adaptation. Am I the only one who wants to give their Pierre a good slapping? You could shorten the agony Northe by skipping the battle descriptions, they don't half go on... and on.... and on.....
Pierre is growing on me, still undecided. I remember the seventies version with a young Anthony Hopkins as Pierre, who I remember as being much better. I reread it last year, (having read it in my teens and skimmed the battles.) This time I was determined to do it properly, and I remember being bogged down in Austerlitz for weeks.
Oops, hijacking this thread rather. Welcome to the forum, Gail!

Hi Gail, welcome to the forum. I go weight watchers and love the new plan, it's working for me with my weight loss and diabetes. I've lost just over 7 stone in 2 years.

Oh! A pattern of islands by Arthur Grimble - my favourite book from school. Oh and White Fang.

Hello Gail, welcome aboard 🙂 No comment from me about War and Peace, try as I might I've never finished it, so it joined my should love but I don't pile, along with Sons and Lovers and Jane Eyre [shudder].

Hi everyone, I'm Gail and I have just been diagnosed with type 2. I've started on Metformin today and it seems like that's it until another blood test in 3 months! I do have an appointment with my surgery dietician next week, so I am hoping to learn more about how carbs affect my sugars then. I've been reading around the site and have learned so much already! 🙂
Welcome gail.you will get lots of support her
