Hello everyone at diabetes support, I am popping in as newbie to the forum, and I can understand how everyone feels towards diabetes some are overwhelmed they have it others handle it bit better than others, I have felt at times like it is a emotional roller coaster for all the things you discover about diabetes the complications involved, some people who do not have diabetes take there health for granted and can assume it will never happen to them, some diabetics get judged and blamed for there condition and some people can feel down about it, we should not be judged or blamed, it is not all about how we eat that can cause it, some people do get it through underlying health problems, i know where mine came from, my trigger was pre eclampsia and gestational diabetes, and I wish years back the medical team could of told me that i was at risk for cardiovascular disease so i was aware and prepared for it, when i had gestational diabetes i was warned i was at risk of developing it, and 7 years on i have it, i think depending on staff and health professionals who look after people you will get great staff and they will be very helpful and say the full info on a persons health what to expect, those who do not get told it is a bombshell when you find out late or later..to add to my worries now my blood vessels got damaged with the PE yet my kidneys and other areas of my body are being closely monitored for other things, even though the diabetes is lower to some highs, I think my health all of now is the triggers from the PE what it has done, i think all women who are getting pregnant or is must be extra careful especially those who have or is or had pre eclampsia and gestational diabetes,PE for those who have had it or is going through it you must treat your body with extra care even after going through pre eclampsia and those who survive eclampsia, be body aware, i knew from PE during and after it my body was not functioning the same it was like a delay going on,because my water works and bowel etc was packing in when i had it, they did not function as good any more after the PE,when i got pregnant with other pregnancies milk production was late like a delay of a week and i never used to be like that before the PE everything worked great no problems, all the body changes from PE some women may be luckier than others may not have a big problem, though sometimes you can think your ok, then years go by and it hits you like a brick somethings wrong triggered from PE, gestational diabetes you are already in pregnancy showing signs diabetes is on the way, all a person can do is not ignore it get on top of it, eat healthy during pregnancy and after and keep active, even when pregnant walk if you can not do a fitness of some kind, cut out all processed and artificial foods, salt fats and sugars that are high levels, reduce or stop, the body becomes like a defense trying to reject these things and it is like having an allergy reaction, once you get those things out your diet, eat gods food plenty fresh veg, fruit fish chicken etc or what your body is not reacting to and your glucose sugars are stable, that is what you must do stick with the good things that are doing your health good, never end up in regret, wishing you can turn clock back especially for those who knew they could of done something sooner, it is not just a lifestyle thing, diabetes strikes for different reasons and it is not your fault, look after your body, do not get tempted to stray the health path, be positive and fight for your health as your the one in the body no one else and you need to be happy in it and comfortable, and you only get one chance in life, live it enjoy it safely, you can over come hurdles. hugs xxx everyone
