T2D here. Not new to diabetes (1994) but new to the forum.

A brief history. Taking insulin (humalog50), metformin for the diabetes. Atorvastatin. Aspirin & clopidogrel (?) to ward off the T.I.A. Plus a few other drugs I take for various conditions. Throw in me being a member of the Zipper Club following a triple heart bypass in July 2024. Also have retinopathy with a side order of macular degeneration leading to blindness in the tightened.

I think that's all.....

Hi @SimoninSwansea and welcome to the forum!

Please feel free to share your experience with others where you feel comfortable. We do get a lot of newbies coming in, having been just diagnosed and I believe the lived experiences help them know what's what better than anything else would. :star: At the same time, should you have any questions, rants or anything else at all - pop them here or in a new thread - others are happy to share their views too or put the forum's hive mind together to find an answer :D

Hi @SimoninSwansea
welcome to the forum, great that after knowing your T2 for 30 years you find this forum

I often end my posts with a 😎 (as like you I’m getting treatment for retinopathy)

hope you find the answers to whatever questions bought you to the forum
a few years ago this forum totally changed my understanding of how I can try to control my condition

as many others have said on this forum before me, ask and if your not sure ask, and remember there’s no such thing as a silly question

Hi @SimoninSwansea and welcome to the forum
There is a wealth of knowledgeable people on the forum, so ask as many questions as you wish, that said, you have 30yrs yourself so may be able to help others, which is what we are very much about, helping each other as much as we can.

I too am in the zipper club (AAA open surgery) 2019.

Alan 😉
