Hi ChipWorker, welcome to the forum!

Sorry to hear about your surgery though glad that you found our forum useful. If there's anything we can do to help, please don't hesitate to ask any questions you may have no matter how big or small the concern may be.

Hi and welcome

Would you like to tell us a bit more about your diabetes.... ie How long you have been diagnosed? What meds, if any, you use to control it or perhaps just diet and exercise? How well you feel you manage it... recent HbA1c etc?
Of course there is no obligation to share any of this info, but it gives us an idea of where you are with your diabetes and can help us provide appropriate comments/advice when applicable.
Pleased the forum has already provided you with valuable information and reassurance. Feel free to ask if there is anything else which is troubling you and hope your eye surgery was successful.

Been there done that with both cataracts too. Anything whatever that causes stress or trauma - and let's face it when we have the first one done, it's very stressful however many explanatory leaflets and videos we've seen, merely because it's something we haven't done before, and they aren't going to render us unconscious either! - causes BG to increase, which just means Type 1s need a bit more insulin temporarily but a bit of a slower process for T2s not using insulin.

Welcome to the forum @ChipWorker. 🙂

Thank you for leaving your feedback, I'm happy to hear you've found visiting our forum useful. I hope your surgery went well aside from the impact on your sugar levels.

Cheers. Added some details to my sig. Going to phone t'doc tomorrow to get my latest HbA1c result, which I hope will be better than that awful 9.3.

Hello and welcome to the forum. 🙂

Fingers crossed your latest result is much better. It certainly should be judging by your diet and exercise regime.

Just phoned doc. Corrected my 1st test (was a little higher than I remembered). Pretty good new result (48) considering Christmas indulgences, and a bit of a mixed start to my keto diet and exercise routine back in November.

Wow! Congratulations! That is a great improvement and hopefully will spur you on to perhaps push it completely into remission. Well done!

Welcome to the forum @ChipWorker

Glad to see your new way of eating seems to be having such a positive effect on your diabetes management.
