I was diagnosed in 96 when I weas 9. I have had an up and down time over the years. I was very controlled throughout my youth but then as I got to University everything got a bit out of control. The past few years I have really tried to change me regime and regularly blood test, carbohydrate count and follow my doctors advice. At the moment nothing seems to be working no matter how hard I try. I regularly have hypos and do not get much awareness anymore and struggle to go to the gym without any worries.
Cannot wait to feel back in control. I know it is going to be hard work but I am due to get a pump in the next 6 months, I'm excited but apprehensive.
I do not know many people with Diabetes other than some of the students I teach. So was really excited to find this site on a Twitter link 🙂 I cannot believe I only just realised there may be support on the net for diabetics
