Hi Toni and welcome to the site. What is a typical days menu for you ? I dont want to sit here and prattle on as ive only been diabeti a year and half and im sure with 3 of you in the household you have loads of knowledge/experiences,but i'm sure people will say it is all about moderation, but some type 1s will be along to help out soon.
Welcome onboard.

Hi Toni, welcome to the forum🙂 Goodness, you certainly have experience of diabetes in your household! I'm sure there are lots of people here who will try and help you with your weight loss - we have some very successful 'losers' here - so to speak! :D

Please feel free to ask any questions you may have, nothing is considered 'silly'!

Hi toni welcome to the forum! I've been 'blessed' with d for 19.5 years and counting. Interesting to hear you have 2 kids with the d! How old are they?

The forum is a fab place to ask all kinds of questions, everyone is lovely! I don't know much about actively loosing weight (I've only managed it in the past few months through stress) but there will be people along soon who can better answer your questions 🙂

Welcome Toni. You could probably teach us a few things !

Been type 1 for 32 years myself but only 1 daughter who, thankfully, is not daibetic (so far 😱).

I've recently lost about 5lbs in 5 weeks so I'm not really qualified to give weight loss advice but I drastically reduced my calorie and carb intake and started walking a lot more.

Im not a great meat lover.

Hi toni
Welcome to the forum! I'm not a great meat lover, either. I was almost a vegetarian, but since the dx, I've been trying to eat it. I found that meat and fish are very very filling, so now I don't have to stuff myself with carbs! Why don't you try it??
Kay🙂

Hi Toni

I am not diabetic but my husband is. i go to slimming world every week, and there is a lady there who is diabetic. She was telling us one night how since following their plan her blood sugar levels are much better and she uses less insulin. Her cholestrol is down to. So I've tried it on my husband. Its early days yet, but there does seem a bit of improvement. Its basically fruit, vegetables, low fat yogurts, and lean meat if a meat eater. its a very simple healthy way of eating, and I've tried them all! 🙂

Hi Toni, welcome to the forum.
