Hi there,

New here.. not new to diabetes though. My anniversary was actually yesterday so i've notched up 4 years with T1.

I used to use a different forum but sort of outgrew it and thought i'd try this one, i like to post questions, thoughts and also like to post to those in need to help and support to return the favour for those who have for me in the past.

I've been using an insulin pump for almost two years and consider him to be my best friend! my control has ranged from HBA1c's from 16+% (rocky start) to a respectable 6.6%. My Last was 7.6%, i'm a DAFNE graduate and consider that a mighty tool in my control.

Sooooo enough about me, just saying Hi and i'm off to nosey around 🙂

Hi YellowNinja, welcome to the forum 🙂 I'm just ahead of you in the diagnosis stakes - my 5th anniversary will be next June, although I'm still on MDI with no pump likely any time soon. What pump do you have?

I look forward to hearing more from you, hope you find the forum a useful and enjoyable place to visit 🙂

Hellow YN, nice to meet you and welcome to the forum.
Sounds as if you will be a great asset to the forum 🙂

Hey,

Ah, a late bloomer too!? Would you be interested in a pump? I have an accu-chek combo, not the snazziest but it has never failed me yet!

Thanks for your kind welcome, making my way around and finding lots to read!!

Thanks Pumper Sue - Great name.

Here's to hoping so and that the forum will be a great asset for me too! 🙂

To be honest, I'm not really bothered about a pump personally, as I have good control on injections - I'm Mr Perfect Levels round here and everybody hates me for it 😉 :D

That's fair enough! if it ain't broke don't fix it!

I've spoke with a few people who said they wouldn't switch to the pump because their happy with their control on MDI, the worst control i had was on injections and since pumping i switched back for some perspective and lasted a whole 7 days before i switched back!

MR perfect levels eh?! i shall be waiting/looking for evidence to back that up 😉

YN hi and a warm welcome to the forum.
