Relationship to Diabetes
Type 2
Good afternoon all.

New to the forum not diabetes. I’ve had Type 2 for 10 years now. The past 3 years I’ve not done that great with controlling my sugars and weight.

My GP suggested that I sign up the 12 week weight loss course, I chose to go with More Life. So far I doing ok mostly sticking to 1200 Cals a day. This week will be my 3rd week, so far lost 5lbs . Blood sugars have improved too. In fact today I had a pre meal reading of 4.7. Haven’t had that for a long time. In fact felt a bit wobbly as I’m sure my body is not used to normal sugar levels. Anybody else had this happen to them?

I am currently taking Linagliptin and one glicazide tablet on a morning and one glicazade at night.

Welcome to the forum
It is not unusual to feel a bit wobbly if you have been having high blood glucose for a while and your meds and dietary changes bring it down, the body has to adjust to lower levels. Well done on the weight loss. the regime you are doing obviously focuses on calories rather than carbs which is one approach that works for some.
You will see many mention low carb routes which many people follow also.

Thank you.

Yes I have tried low carb, lost a fair amount of weight. 6 weeks in I started with stomach cramps and constantly needing the loo. Contracted GP, put it down to me having my gallbladder removed some years ago and my digestive system couldn’t cope with all the healthy fats.

Hi Jo Liley2, welcome to the forum.

Yep, it's natural to feel a bit wobbly as things settle down so hang in there.

Congratulations on bringing your numbers down! One thing about diabetes is the fact that everyone manages it differently so keep listening to your body and figuring out what works for you.

Best of luck with your current regime and do let us know if we can help in any way.
