Hi and welcome from me too.

Sorry to hear that you have struggled with your diabetes management and weight and that you are now starting to experience some complications. I hope that you will be able to slow or stop progression of those ad possibly even see some improvement.

Would you like to tell us a bit about how you manage your diabetes. You mention Libre so I wonder if you are on insulin and if so, which ones. We do have some Type 2 members not on insulin who occasionally self fund Libre to give them information about how their body responds to certain foods and as a Type 1 on insulin, I find it invaluable.
Obviously, if you are on insulin then you need to adjust your diet cautiously because your insulin doses will also need adjusting. Do you carb count?

The more info you can give us about your diabetes, the better we can advise and support you. Wishing you lots of luck with turning things around and if you have any questions or need any help.... or just want to have a good moan about the unfairness of it all, please feel free. We all understand how challenging and frustrating it can be.

Welcome to the forum @Tinalc

Sorry to hear your diabetes has been playing up recently. Do you know your most recent HbA1c result? And are you on any medication to help with your glucose management?

Finding the right balance between the foods you are eating and any medication that you have been prescribed can be tricky at times, and diabetes does change and evolve for some people from time to time which can be pretty disheartening when you’ve worked hard to achieve a balance, and then things stop working as they used to.

Do you keep an eye on the total carbohydrate content of your meals? Moderating your carb intake can be a powerful way of helping your body cope with what you are eating, and balance with the effects of your meds to improve your blood glucose outcomes.
