Hi all,

came across this forum site through Diabetes UK and thought I'd give it a go as hearing other peoples' adivce is always a good thing right?

So, have had type 1 for 23 years, started off looong ago with 2 injections a day, then went up to 4, then 5...then moved onto a pump in 2009 which was the best decision I've ever made in my life (of course, the advice and material that was useful I had to find myself, far be it from the NHS, who I pay for, to be useful!)

going to have a look on this site and see if I can find any other sporty/diver folks.

🙂

Hi Dory, welcome to the forum 🙂 Please feel free to share your experiences, which will be very valuable for our more recently diagnosed members 🙂

thanks! will do (re helping others). If only this sort of thing had been around when I was younger...my health history would be far different!

I was very fortunate that I was diagnosed only 6 months before this site was set up - don't know how I would have gone on without it! There's only so much the doctors can tell you, you also need to hear things from others who 'get it' 🙂

Hi Dory, welcome to the forum. Another pumper here and type 1 for almost 48 years 😱

Hiya, snap but only almost 41 years LOL cos Sue started a lot younger than me, precocious child that she was !

Lol and that makes me the baby of the veterans, a mere 33 years since I was diagnosed as a baby... :D

Dory hi and a warm welcome to the forum

thanks all for such warm welcomes. so nice to meet people that actually know what I'm on about when I say a hypo can make you pretty useless for a day sometimes 😱

Hi Dory and welcome aboard 🙂
