I registered yesterday but have already been all over the board posting random questions, mainly due to the fact I keep waking up at 4.a.m. suddenly remembering something I can't have...this morning it was Indian Takeaway!!!

I have to admit I did check out some other forums but preferred this one because the people seem a bit more 'real' and honest with less 'medical' answers if you know what I mean!

Although the diagnosis was a shock (T2) I knew something was going to happen at some point due to my unhealthy lifestyle and am 47 it could have been a lot worse. Previously I wouldn't eat breakfast or lunch just drink coffee and smoke until 4pm when I would suddenly be STARVING and eat rubbish...I couldn't understand why I was overweight when I hardly ate anything...just one meal in the evening always cooked from stratch...subconciously though I knew it was just a matter of time!

So this enforced healthy lifestyle is a GOOD thing...its complicated and I am overwhelmed by information but one day at a time it will all become clear I'm sure. Looking forward to being thinner, healthier and fitter and making some new friends on this forum..also shocked at the treatment (lack of) some people receive from their Doctors....scandalous! My Doctor was fab

Anyway HI!

Anyway HI!

Hi Lola, you're very welcome 🙂 So many people find this - that the diagnosis forces them to make changes and understand their bodies far better than they would ever have done. You learn all the time with this disease, and we all learn from each other so don't be afraid to jump in with any questions (which I see you already have!). Looking forward to hearing more from you. It's great that you have a good doctor too - that can be so important, especially in the early days.

Hello from a fellow Type 2 in his mid 40's (is 46 mid, or is it late?).

Anyway, I was very much like you. I went much of the day not eating much (except probably the 'odd' snack of rubbish) followed by a humungous evening meal.

Now? Well, I think that I'm enyoying my grub more than ever because I've expanded my repertoire of meals (six bangers and a plateful of mash no longer!).

I'm also feeling so much better now too (even if there are still some hang-over problems from before - high cholesterol and an improving fatty liver to name but two!).

So, good luck and I hope to hear about a new you soon too! 🙂

Andy

HIYA!!!

Thank you for the advise on my thread 🙂 useful but i think my doctor is that much of a jerk that it wont work lol .....

How are you finding the forum so far - we have a friendly bunch here - half of them should be doctors themselves (looks at northe and am64) lmao ....
