Could someone help me here,
I've been a devoted boyfriend since the day I met my type 1 girlfriend Shannon 15/07/22.
It's been a tough ride with the mood swings more I studied more I realise the impact the condition can have on the person.

Hi Inka,
It's a very crazy story that I may end up broadcasting.
My partner has been told she has to switch to the device pump yet the training is Dec time yet they stopped giving her the sensor,s to use for testing.

So she's back to proding her fingertips for level's for starters and it's started to be the cause of getting her down again.

That’s odd @Higgs - she should still be eligible to get sensors on the NHS (Freestyle Libre2 or Dex One) completely independent of pump funding as they are 2 completely different funding streams.

Who was it who suggested stopping the sensors?

Is she seen at the hospital clinic or at her GPs (who may have less experience with T1)… or does she see both hospital and GP for different things? Perhaps it’s just miscommunication between different parts of her diabetes team?

Freestyle Libre 2 GP stopped weeks back.
So she's not testing as much I noticed.

My guess is that the two things might not necessarily be related. So she’s switching to a pump and her training is in December. And her GP has stopped prescribing her the Libre. First job is to ask why the GP did that. Most GPS know very little about Type 1. Perhaps they assumed she’d get the pump immediately and would get a sensor (same or different) with it? Perhaps now she’s getting a pump it’s up to the consultant to sort the sensors? Perhaps the GP pharmacist automatically removed the Libre?

The only way you/she will find out is by asking.
