You will not find many type two diabetes in control of their glucose levels and eating high carb foods such as potato or banana.
As the problem is not yet at the stage of full blown diabetes a few reductions could well be all that is needed, or swapping foods so that there is the same amount of a low carb option rather than, for instance potato, rice, corn or other grains.

I have been in the same position for a few years. I eat a lot of green vegetables and a lot of fibre foods.

Welcome to the forum. Have a look at the tread What did you eat yesterday for ideas of what people with Type 2 have for meals. You will notice that a common feature is restricted carbohydrates so meals consist mainly of meat, fish, cheese, eggs, salad and vegetables with some fruit mainly berries.
The book or app Carbs and Cals is very useful for guidance on carb content of a range of foods, so it will help your food choices.
