Diagnosed October 17, doing all the "good things" bs now within normal levels with medication no longer symptomatic BUT now always feel hungry despite eating regularly and whilst no longer feel tired I have no enthusiasm to do anything. any of you more experienced out there have any advice? Please?

Hi @Dazinblack welcome to the forum. Could you give us an idea of what you’re eating.
Eating more protein and some good fats can help you fill you up.

How did you come to be diagnosed?

It sounds as though you may be feeling a bit low, DX (Diagnosis) can come as a shock and if your diet is too restricted this won’t be helping either. It would be a good idea to tell your nurse how you’re feeling.

Feel free to ask questions we’ll do our best to help.

My diet hasnt changed significantly other than cut out sugar in drinks stopped the choccy bars
Breakfast is either slice of toast or bowl of Jordan's Country fruit and nut.
Lunch wholemeal sandwich ( cheese or ham) pkt crisps
Tea usual spag bol chilli con carne steak pie and veg fajitas. occasional curry / chicken kebab
On a calorie controlled diet supposed to be 2000 cals but more often than not only eat 1500
I will look at more protein foods but more concerned about the lack of enthusiasm. Its not lethargy... I just cant be arsed to do things

That's exactly what lethargy IS mate! - total lack of enthusiasm. For anything .......

Been there done that - and in my case sounds far too familiar - it's absolutely not eating ENOUGH!!

So - up the protein for starters as you say. Grit your teeth and do anything - anything you might have on your 'I spose I really ought to go and do this, see that, visit wherever, when I get round to it' whether it's scrubbing the floor or visiting the Isle of Skye! - at least PLAN that!

Hello Dazinblack welcome to the forum. 🙂

It is naff but as hard as it appears try and do something. I hated getting up and going for a swim and I moaned about for weeks. I now feel so good with it and want to do more when I get home also lost 2 stone doing it. Part of the emotional roller-coaster of being diagnosed is having the can't be arsed feeling. I am now 5 months in and still have the odd day but tell myself. "get your lazy bum into gear" . Hope it works out.

Any meat, any fish or shellfish, any birds eggs, any cheese - then there are vegetarian sources of protein too.

Cook em however you want or eat em raw, I don't care LOL

That's a lot of carbs to cope with - what medication do you use to control your blood glucose levels?
