Sorry this is my first post and I'm already asking for things! I have been managing my child's diabetes for 5 months now.
I have started a UK GOV petition to change food labelling. It's VERY specific, but also would be really helpful!
I need at least 5 people to get it started. Please click on the link if you feel this is something you can do:
I’ve made a petition – will you sign it?

My petition:
Require food labels to list 'Carbohydrates per unit' alongside 'Carbs per 100g'.
Diabetics calculate insulin for the amount of carbohydrates eaten. Packaging usually gives 'Carbs per 100g'. So, if there are 3 items in a 85g packet, you must divide the Carbs/100g by 100, multiply by 85 and then divide by 3 to get the Carbs for the unit you will actually be eating! Complicated!
Make it easier for diabetics to calculate the correct (and safe) dose of insulin by insisting food labels include the 'Carbohydrates per unit'. Insist all manufacturers do this clearly.
