Hi Julianne, welcome to the forum 🙂 Have you been diagnosed long? I think some of our members have reported initial nausea with Victoza, but eventually got (more or less!) used to it. If it becomes too much you might want to ask your doctor about Byetta which is similar but may not cause side effects for you 🙂

Are you able to test your levels to see how modifications to your diet affect you?

Hi Juliana I was recently on Victoza came off it because my doc was happy with my weight loss, I found the nausea a right pita what dose are you on 0.6 or higher ?

Hiya Steff

Im on 0.6 initially and then in 3 days I go upto the higher dose but its evil 🙂

Hi, I feel we can suffer together. I started Byetta yesterday and yes nausea us getting pretty awful, but I am doing what consultant said and resting and riding through it.

If its that bad, consultant should sign you off for a few days - even if its just because you need to lie down. Might be worth asking.

I took 2 days holiday as was warned it might be bad. Then I have the weekend too and am hoping I can cope with it by then.

Just because Byetta has affected me though it may be worth asking about it as Northerner suggests as it affects people differently.

Personally if you are on day 3 I would try and give it a bit longer if you can, but of course if it really is unbearable, speak to your GP.

Hope you feel a little better tomorrow. I am finding sips of (not freezing) cold water is helping.🙂

Hya julianna thanks for getting back to me yes I understand and agree it is evil i started on a drug called Byetta which was totally fine for me I had no side effects but I was took off it as weight loss was just non existent but on the Victoza it was brill I rode out the side effects cause I was losing weight if you see what I mean x

Give it time i say, remember Rome was not built in a day x good luck

Thanks for the advice 🙂 I've only been in my new job 5 weeks and I can't take time off and they don't pay sick pay so I have to stick at it :( which isn't helping :( roll on the weekend xx

Northerner

Thanks for your support, it helps a lot, I've had diabetes for 2 years no family history n no warning it kinda happened overnight :( its taken a lot of nagging and badgering the NHS to get to this point so I don't want to rock the boat so to speak but my levels are coming down I've just tested and it's 5.7 so something good is coming out of this 🙂

Welcome to the forum Julianne 🙂
