Hi, my name's Rachel and i was diagnosed with type 2 at the end of september last year. It was a total shock, i work in the NHS so in retrospect all the warning signs were there, and i kind of thought i'd end up with diabetes one day, but not quite yet. Two out of three of my surviving grandparents are type 2 but neither of my parents. It was really hard to come to terms with at first, but recently i've managed to put it to the back of my mind, keep an eye on my blood sugar and basically thought "oh well, this isn't so bad after all." Until today.
Today i went into my GP's office to get a repeat for my Metformin and i came out with (what feels like) a sudden attack of high blood pressure and Cholesterol, and leaky kidneys. Now i'm back to feeling pants and have to take even more flipping tablets! And dammit, i thought i was doing so well.
I'm sorry to start out like this, but i'm so glad i found you guys because i feel like i need somebody to rant to and give my parents a break!🙂
