My mum and I are hoping you can help with keeping my Mum supported in these tough times with Doctors surgery's
Mum has a freestyle 2 sencor which still works but only with a reader not the smart phone Mum had originally.
We are wondering if anyone has the same problem?

Good morning @jane114 and welcome to the forum. I think it would be a good idea for you to tell us the username of your mother just to make sure that everybody on the forum knows who is who. Is it your mother who has T1 or do you have T1 as well?
 
People seem to be having all sorts of problems with their sensors and phones at the moment since a software upgrade a few weeks ago, so yes lots of people are having problems.

Yes @jane114 (Hilarie), a number of people have had problems with the Libre 2 and their phones. If your mother has a Libre reader she could just use that, especially if she wants to be sure of the alarms working. You could also try contacting Abbott for help.

Think it’s a joint account, the mother has T1 and the daughter is helping with using the forum
 
Does your mother have a Libre 1 reader (black) or the Libre 2 reader which seems to be blue? If she is just using an original black Libre reader, she will not get alarms with the Libre 2 sensors, but it should still read the sensors. If she has the Libe 2 reader, then hopefully she should still get alarms as well as readings but obviously it is another bit of kit to carry around regardless, which can be frustrating for some people. Personally I have only ever used the reader and considering the problems many people have had with their phones as a result of updates, I think the reader is probably a lot more
reliable.
I believe Abbott are working on a fix for the mobile phone situation and will issue a Libre 2 reader if you don't have one to tide you over if you only have the original reader with no alarms.
