Hi Archiesdream, welcome to the forum 🙂 Don't worry, you've made a good start! Have you been diagnosed long, and are you on any medication for your diabetes?
 
Hello Northerner, Have been diabetic for about 8 years but now insulin dependent started that about a year ago. I am taking Humar log mix 25 insulin twice daily 38 units morning 34 units evening also Metformin 4 a day.

How are you finding things? Do you test your levels yourself to find out how different meals are affecting you? Some people find that mixed insulins are a bit restrictive because you have to 'eat to the insulin' rather than injecting according to what you wish to eat (a regime called MDI, multiple daily injections, also known as basal/bolus). However, if it's working for you then no need to change it!
 
I find understanding carbohydrates hard at times, I take insulin just before breakfast and then just before dinner in evening, my readings are very good and nearly always in-between the target figures set for me. So far have never suffered any hypos.
