Hello everyone, how are you. It's been awfully quiet for some weeks. Any news?

Nice to see you again @Busdriver60

How are things? Hope the world is treating you well 🙂

Hi and welcome back.

Forum has been busy, so probably just you who has been quiet. 😉

Hope all going well with you (and your good lady of course) and your diabetes isn't proving too challenging at the moment.

I am in the process of clearing out my horse manure bays and delivering to local gardeners. There are probably about 6-8 tones of the stuff to shift and it is all to fork into my trailer by hand and then empty into barrows at the other end and wheel into people's garden's so it is very good exercise and saves on gym fees. Could just do with the weather being a little less wet! 🙄

"tonnes of the stuff to..."

*hastily re-reads*

shiFt. Ah... OK... SHIFT!

Pity you are so far away we could really do with a ton of manure for our allotment.

I have a long list of regular customers, so even if you lived local, you might have to wait a while although there is a fairly constant and consistent production line! 🙄 The new bay that I just started into is absolutely teeming with young worms, so it is really good stuff!

You would never have thought S..t was in such high demand.

We use a lot in our garden. Fortunately there is a very nice lady who lives a 10 minute drive away. She gives her ponies manure away providing you can collect it. We load up a trailer full of large garden trugs.

I just realised that my garden is a vegan.

Lots of peas.

Hi Paul, @Busdriver60,

Still busy in this corner of Berks. Our daughter, husband and grandson left to go up the road earlier this month. We're living in a near empty house with borrowed crockery, cutlery and very little furniture; now frantically trying to take advantage, do a thorough autumn clean up indoors, fix the many little broken things we've always known about (and a few more, previously hidden by our joint clutter) and we're getting some help with a lot of redecoration at the end of Oct. Meanwhile our own stuff comes out of storage on Monday, rain expected, so lots to wrestle with next week.

Anyway how are you doing? Work still good? D management feeling a bit easier, less stressful and generally seeming a bit more straightforward? Still doing your karate regularly?

Hi @Busdriver60
I've not been around due to emergency surgery for a small bowel obstruction. Currently recovering.
On a more positive note I've been added to the list to go onto hybrid closed loop. It's a fairly long list but hopefully sometime next year.
Hoping things are going well for you. How is the job going?

Hi everyone, sorry for the late reply. I've been busy working happily in my new job and also just a brand new kitchen fitted in my flat. The place looked like a bomb site with bits of debris and boxes everywhere to accommodate building materials, but now I'm happy to say I've reclaimed my flat and now it actually looks like a proper place to live in again! I'm still occasional spikes with my BG but it's all part of learning. I definitely haven't abandoned the forum. I will try to get back in regular contact with the group again I promise.

I can assure you I'm still very much involved in the forum and glad to be too. Lovely to hear from you!

Pleased to hear you have a lovely new kitchen and you are still enjoying your new job and that you are feeling more relaxed about your diabetes management. Sounds like you have found a good balance with it all. You have come so far in a relatively short space of time, what with the initial diagnosis and starting on insulin and losing a job that you had done for such a long time and then finding and starting a completely different job and learning to manage your diabetes throughout all that. I think you have earned a big "WELL DONE!"

I help out at a stables and have access to as much horse poo as I could carry. Just need to work out the logistics of getting it to my garden. I'm wondering if I can get away with at the next stable club getting the kids to fill lots of sacks to load into the car....or does that make me a bad person :D

Also collecting a new car Friday so I think it will have to be this week as not sure my other half will appreciate the delicate aroma of horse manure to compliment that new car smell.

Thank you so much, you are so kind!

Love the avatar @Busdriver60 it put a smile on my face. Nice to see that you have managed to reduce your bg levels from 3 digits. Make me feel more positive about managing my own bg levels.

I am so pleased that your new job worked out @Busdriver60. The chaos of installation sounds like it has been well worth it to have your new kitchen all done and working well.

My job is great, enjoying it very much, everyday is different with a lot variety with the work, meeting lots of people and no driving! Perfect! Thank you for asking. Nice to meet you too! Nice to hear from you!
