Relationship to Diabetes
Type 2
Hi, I am a type2 over 50 and new to this forum. For approx 2 years had poor control and loss of motivation. I am slowly improving diet and exercise and feeling more energised.
However, finding it difficult to get back into work after 2 years of little or no employment.

Hi Dave, welcome to the forum 🙂 Good to hear you are getting on the case and things are starting to improve - if there's anything we can help with, please let us know 🙂 Having poor control can also have a significant impact on your mood as well as your energy levels, so hopefully improving things will help with your efforts to get back into work 🙂 Are you on any medication for your diabetes?

Hi, thank you for your kind words. I am on tablets for the type 2 diabetes. Things have improved over the last six months so hopefully moving in the right direction.

Welcome to the forum.🙂

Hi David and a warm welcome to the forum. You are amongst friends here so if you feel like having a rant ~ then rant away! Glad to see you have made some progress in the last six months so keep up the good work. You are in charge of your diabetes so its up to you to manage it the best you can. Maintaining low carborhydrate intake ~ and walking in particular if you are able ~ will help to lower your blood glucose levels. I think once you have better control of your diabetes then you will begin to feel more motivated and perhaps then feel you can seek employment.

If you haven't already bought it, there is a book called the CARB & CALORIE COUNTER which you will find helpful. Amazon £10.49. Its the perfect support tool for carborhydrate counting in diabetes ~ weight management ~ portion control ~ and general healthy eating. I myself swear by it as other members here do too. Take care now and do remember you are welcome to visit here as often as you like to ask as many questions as you wish ~ read other Threads ~ and join in with any discussions and banter that takes your fancy! Good luck.
