Hello,
I'm Mark from Oxfordshire and I was diagnosed with type 2 at the end of September last year, And if I'm honest it was not a surprise as I have 2 sisters who also are diabetic so I like a fool ignored all the signs right up to the point where I could no longer sleep for long because of the pain and numbness in my feet. Being the typical bloke who leaves medical conditions far too long for my own good!
When I was given the news by my doctor he told me that my sugar level was 17.9 and he put me on Metformin 500mg twice a day and to up this to four a day within two weeks, I coped ok with just a minor issue or two with a upset tummy but overall no drama. Six weeks later my level was down to 7.2 so I feel I'm making progress but I so wish I'd used some sense and had my sugar level checked sooner!
But what's done is done and now I'm determine to make the best of my situation and keep smiling...
Regards,
Mark...
