Relationship to Diabetes
Type 1
Well, new to the forum anyway.

Type 1 since 1957 but who's counting....

Don't know why it's taken so long to join, I do drop in from time to time to see if I can find any helpful information and then realised that maybe I might have some something useful to share as well.

So time to say …. Hello!

Hi and welcome. I’m sure you’ve seen lots of changes in ways to manage diabetes over the years.

Hello, and welcome from me as well.
I hope that you find the forum useful, and look forward to your contribution.

Changes, plenty of those!

Certainly more controllable now that we have the tech to help.

I don't use a pump but it seems to me that you should be able to get a pen to record doses via a simple Bluetooth link. How difficult could that be...?

Such things exist (NovoPen 6, NovoPen Echo Plus). Apparently they read out over NFC (so you need to scan them).
(Apparently they also show insulin on board, which seems useful too.)

Thanks Bruce, will look that one up.

I found those from what looked like a press release, so it's possible they're not actually available here yet. But I'm sure some such things exist (like the clip on things that just remember the time you injected (mostly for basal insulins); the one I've got seems to eat batteries, though).

I guess it is the Basal that I need more than the Bplus. The Novapen I use does record the last bolus but as the evening dose seems to happen on auto-pilot I sometimes struggle to remember!

Welcome to the forum @OneVision

Happy that you have ‘delurked’ at last 🙂

Look forward to hearing more of your story.
