Hello Ellie! Welcome 🙂 Finding this forum really helped me, everyone is really friendly and it helps to talk to people who understand. I was diagnosed when I was 16 and am now 23.

Welcome, Ellie 🙂

I'm 21 now but distinctly remember how horrible it was trying to deal with diabetes alongside schoolwork and pressure from peers and at home. I think it was between the ages of 13 and 18 that my control was at its poorest. Sometimes life just gets in the way.

What insulin regime are you on?

Feel free to rant and ask as many questions as you like!

Hi Ellie and welcome to the forum 🙂

Hi ellie,
Welcome. I am 29 now, but have had T1 since i was 10. I think my teen's was the worst i was HBA1C wise, it was all over the place. School was so hard. The amount of times i had Hypo's and had to try go out of the class to eat something to get me through to lunch, i cant even count on one hand. At the time i didnt want anyone looking or talking about it like it was weird, so i would just ask if i could go to the toilet.
Looking back, they must have thought i had horrific bladder problems instead. LOL.
But any stories you share will not be uncommon to anyone on here.
Noelle

Hi Ellie and a warm welcome to the forum from me.

Hi Ellie,

My elder son is also 15. He was only diagnosed last November, but had been helping his little brother deal with it since his diagnosis in Oct '09. He comes on here sometimes, too.

Take care, Ange
