Known as LlanbedrBoy, saying hello to all fellow Diabetics. I am late onset T2 insulin dependent and hating every minute of it!

Welcome to the group

Hi, welcome to the forum

Welcome! I am also T2 but on Metformin at the moment, you will find loads of help and support here

Hi - I somewhat presume you really mean you're a late onset T1? since T2 has always been more likely as we age.

However - why do you hate it particularly - amongst all the far worse more life-threatening things any of us might have? I mean obviously none of us like it but in comparison to the cancer all my family died of, I think I'm damned lucky.

Is there something specific that your dislike about it - run it past us and let's see if anyone knows a way round it. If there IS a way round something - a pound to a penny someone on here will have found it!

Welcome. I hated my diagnosis for a couple weeks then realised all these toddlers getting type1 made me think...yeah, all my life, no major illness, I can handle this plus it was my own fault being a carb hog.
It gets better. Feel good cutting out c**p food.

Hi Llanderboy and welcome to the forum
Please don't hate it. Although I fully understand how you feel, hating it only saps your energy. I disliked it for about 1 day then realised it was a wake up call and ghat you can control it with a few lifestyle changes. There is a lot of help and guidance on here so use it.
What @trophywench carries a lot of truth so use the forum and let us all know how you get on.
Try to view your diagnosis positively from the viewpoint you have been diagnosed. If you hadn't the outcome of being a diabetic in terms of severe consquences to your health and well-being can sometimes be catstrophic.
After a few weeks it will get better. I was only diagnosed in Sept last year and sincerely I feel like a new man and age wise, I am less than 2 years behind you and feel 20 years younger now than I have done for a very long time. A new lease of life.
Keep posting please.
