Type 2
Hi everyone, another newby to join the clan. Had diabetes type 2 for around 14 yrs. Take Glicazide & Metformin also inject insulin (slow & fast acting). Have little toe left on left foot and had forefoot removal on right foot. All due to past infections. Not had any now for four years since I started using Insulin. I am one of the Diabetic wounded....like so many of us. But there are worse than me I know.

Looking forward to chatting with you all.

Hi Ruby,
Its odd that you are using both Gliclazide and Insulin, sulfonylurea driugs like glic are usually stopped when insulin starts.
Is there a particular reason why the glic was continued in your case ?

Hi everyone,

Hi Peter,

Thanks for replying. I was taking the Glicazide & Metformin before taking the Insulin. I had wondered myself why I should continue taking both. They were not controlling my bloods anymore so I was put on Insulin. I now take fast & slow acting Insulin. I think I should mention the tablets when I visit the Diabetes centre next, don't you?
